About the role
The Department of Pathology and Microbiology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) invites applications for a full-time, tenure-leading faculty position in the division of Clinical Pathology with a focus on Chemical Pathology and Transfusion Medicine.
Responsibilities
- Laboratory directorship or associate directorship in multiple subspecialities, including clinical lab and public health operations
- Responsibility for assay validation, clinical consultations, serum protein electrophoresis/immunofixation, mass spectrometry, therapeutic drug monitoring, immunoassays, and analysis of seized illegal drugs
- Cover a busy transfusion medicine service
- Teaching within the medical school and within an ACGME-accredited AP/CP residency program
- Developing research projects
Requirements
- M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. (or equivalent) degree
- Certified or eligible for certification in AP or AP/CP by the American Board of Pathology
- Fellowship training in chemical pathology and/or transfusion medicine/blood banking is required
