About the role

The Chief of Nuclear Medicine will lead a dynamic program central to St. Jude’s mission of advancing cures for children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases. The program will be built around St. Jude’s new extended field-of-view PET/CT, molecular imaging core (cyclotron and radiochemistry lab), expanding molecular imaging research section, and image quantification and artificial intelligence (IQAI) collaboratory.

Responsibilities

  • Shape a world-class clinical and research program
  • Interpret PET/CT, SPECT/CT, and nuclear scintigraphy studies, primarily serving pediatric oncology patients
  • Contribute to innovative research applications for cancer and other catastrophic diseases, including first-in-human imaging agents
  • Lead the development and validation of imaging biomarkers and theranostics
  • Collaborate with researchers across departments such as Oncology, Surgery, Pathology, and Data Science
  • Advocate for extramural funding opportunities

Requirements

  • ABNM- or ABR-certified nuclear medicine physician or radiologist with subspecialty training in Nuclear Medicine, Molecular Imaging, and Theranostics
  • MD, DO or equivalent degree
  • Board certified by the American Board of Radiology and/or American Board of Nuclear Medicine
  • Experience in nuclear medicine, molecular imaging, and theranostics
  • Qualify for medical licensure in the State of Tennessee

Qualifications

  • Strong leadership skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage a multidisciplinary team
  • Proven track record of successful research and clinical outcomes

Skills

  • Expertise in nuclear medicine and molecular imaging
  • Knowledge of theranostics and artificial intelligence
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Strong grant writing and advocacy skills
