About the Division

The Division of Hematology, Oncology & Transplantation at the University of Minnesota, in partnership with the Masonic Cancer Center (an NCI-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center), has been a leader in the care and study of benign hematologic disorders for over 50 years. The division brings together outstanding scientists and clinicians to drive advancements in treatment, discovery, and training.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver compassionate and expert clinical care to patients with benign hematologic disorders in both inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Develop and/or lead clinical trials, translational studies, or lab-based investigations
  • Contribute actively to medical education and training programs across the Medical School’s learning continuum
  • Support multidisciplinary teams and advocate for growth in classical hematology services
  • Engage with institutional and national partners to advance research, care models, and population outcomes in non-malignant hematology

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated excellence in clinical care of patients with benign hematologic disorders
  • Strong teaching skills and enthusiasm for academic medicine
  • Evidence of research productivity or interest in developing academic focus (clinical, translational, or basic science)
  • Graduate of an accredited ACGME Internal Medicine residency and Hematology fellowship-training program
  • Board eligible/certified in Hematology
  • Licensed or ability to acquire medical license and DEA in the State of Minnesota, and meet threshold criteria/qualifications for credentialing and privileges
  • Ability to receive work authorization in the United States from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and maintain legal status according to the requirements of the VISA

Preferred Qualifications

  • Candidates with specialized expertise in hemostasis/thrombosis, red cell disorders, hemoglobinopathies, gene therapy, TTP, complement disorders, rare diseases, or clinical trial development are strongly encouraged to apply
