FACULTY MSD - School Psychologist
Main Purpose of Job
The school psychologist is an 11-month position responsible for providing direct diagnostic/assessment and counseling services to MSD students, participating in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, and offering professional consultation and training to school staff and families. The role supports both campuses and collaborates closely with educational teams to address student needs, including providing behavioral support through the assessment of student behavior, development of evidence-based interventions, and guidance to staff on implementing effective strategies. The school psychologist supports several school teams and committees, including the Admissions Review Team (ART), Threat Assessment Team, Research Review Committee, and initiatives related to PBIS and MTSS, while maintaining ongoing communication with administrative staff and school personnel regarding student mental health needs and services.
Minimum Qualifications
- Credentialed by the state in which they work
- Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) School Psychologist License required (or the ability to obtain in a specific time)
