Faculty Medical Physicist - Radiation Oncology Thomas Jefferson University Hospital
About the role
The Thomas Jefferson University Medical Physics Division is seeking a highly motivated individual to join Jefferson’s dynamic, collegiate, and expanding physics team. The department provides clinical physics services at 13 locations across Philadelphia and the surrounding metro regions, including Varian and Elekta Linacs, a ViewRay MRI-Linac, an Elekta Gamma Knife, and a CyberKnife. The division has a growing Theranostics program with quantitative SPECT/CT for dosimetry calculation using MIM MRT system. The group leads a highly impactful and diverse research program with ongoing multiple funded projects by the National Cancer Institute, vendor funded research, and Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center funding. Research topics include computational physics, functional imaging, AI and machine learning, computer vision, multi-lesion SRS, alpha- and beta-particle microdosimetry, and physics-led clinical trials.
Responsibilities
- Perform peer-reviewed research
- Participate in standard Medical Physics tasks and lead commissioning projects
- Contribute to a specialty program (SRS, brachytherapy, MRI-Linac)
- Teach the Medical Physics and Radiation Oncology residents
Requirements
- A PhD in Medical Physics is required
