Faculty - Foundations Lab/Clinical - College of Nursing
Grand Canyon University, a regionally accredited, private, nondenominational Christian university in Phoenix, Arizona, is launching a 16-month Accelerated BSN program in Lake Mary, FL, with its first cohort in May 2025. We are seeking a Foundations Lab/Clinical Instructor to join our College of Nursing and Healthcare Professionals.
About the role
As a full-time Foundations Lab/Clinical Nursing Faculty Member, you will provide lab and clinical program instruction using innovative teaching methodologies and cutting-edge technologies. This role involves reinforcing didactic content, evaluating student progress, and maintaining compliance with program accreditation standards. Responsibilities
- Reinforce didactic content and teach in the context of clinical and lab applications of knowledge and skills for pre-licensure nursing.
- Collaborate with content area faculty to evaluate and document student progress toward clinical and lab objectives.
- Participate in grading written and clinical/lab performance check-offs.
- Maintain communication with program faculty and director, including attendance at select faculty meetings.
- Stay current with new trends and developments in nursing practice.
- Maintain compliance with program accreditation requirements.
- Uphold the tenets of nursing as a holistic profession and the pillars of the university.
- Travel to student clinical sites to directly observe student performance.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN) required.
- Unencumbered Florida RN license.
- Minimum of 2 years’ work experience in medical/surgical, long-term care, and/or skilled nursing.
- Prior teaching experience at the collegiate level preferred.
- Evidence of involvement in one’s professional area (e.g., membership in professional organizations, presentations, research, and/or publications).
- Must successfully pass a drug test.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and preceptors.
- Participation in and/or support of the university’s program, including congruence with the philosophy and direction of the institution, and service to the community.
- Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and Mission.
Schedule
Onsite Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM–4:30 PM, with flexibility for clinical rotations.
