Grand Canyon University, an institutionally accredited, private, nondenominational Christian University in Phoenix, Arizona, is expanding its Accelerated BSN program to Albuquerque. We are seeking a full-time Faculty Member for Lab/Clinical in Critical Care/MedSurg II to shape the next generation of nurses and healthcare professionals.

About the role

As a full-time faculty member, you will provide program instruction using innovative teaching methodologies and cutting-edge technologies. This role involves reinforcing didactic content in clinical and lab settings, collaborating with faculty, evaluating student progress, and maintaining compliance with program accreditation. Travel to student clinical sites in the greater Albuquerque area is required.

Responsibilities

  • Reinforce didactic content and teach in the context of clinical and lab application of knowledge and skills related to pre-licensure nursing.
  • Collaborate with content area faculty to evaluate and document student progress toward clinical and lab objectives.
  • Participate in grading written and clinical/lab performance check-offs.
  • Preserve lines of communication with program faculty and director, including attendance at select faculty meetings.
  • Remain current with new trends and developments in nursing practice.
  • Maintain compliance with program accreditation requirements.
  • Uphold the tenets of nursing as a holistic profession and the pillars of the university.
  • Travel to student clinical sites in the greater Albuquerque area to directly observe student performance.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN) required.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ recent work experience in Complex Care, Acute Care, Critical Care, ICU, or ER nursing.
  • An active, current, and unencumbered Registered Nurse license in the state of New Mexico or a compact state.
  • Prior teaching experience at the collegiate level preferred.
  • Evidence of involvement in one’s professional area (e.g., membership in professional organizations, presentations, research, and/or publications).
  • Must successfully pass a drug test.
  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and Mission.

Schedule

Skills Lab: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Clinical rotations to be determined.
