Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and schedule student, adjunct, and full-time faculty clinical, lab, and simulation experiences.
  • Coordinate and schedule student observation experiences.
  • Identify current and emerging trends and opportunities in the Nursing discipline to ensure the development and retention of adjunct faculty to meet Nursing program laboratory, clinical, and simulation requirements.
  • Promote Nursing adjunct faculty development; recommend, coordinate, and lead activities to meet adjunct faculty development and program goals related to clinical and lab.
  • Plan, coordinate, and promote Nursing adjunct programming and initiatives with the department faculty in collaboration with the Associate Dean.
  • Develop and maintain clinical agency relationships.
  • Affirmatively contribute to the development and implementation of clinical remediation plans.
  • Manage and resolve adjunct faculty clinical/lab conflicts.
  • Revise and develop policies for the Clinical Adjunct section of the Faculty Handbook.
  • Verify adjunct and full-time faculty meet compliance requirements prior to clinical rotation.
  • In coordination with the Preceptorship Program Lead, determine preceptorship needs.
  • Coordinate with clinical site liaisons to obtain preceptors.
  • Coordinate with clinical sites regarding student concerns or issues.
  • Conduct and attend two clinical committee meetings during the fall and spring semesters of each academic year.
  • Review clinical committee agenda ideas with the Associate Dean.
  • Formulate and provide clinical committee agendas for each meeting.
  • Provide handouts and materials at each clinical meeting for all committee members as necessary.
  • Construct and deliver clinical meeting minutes to committee members for review and approval.
  • Archive meeting minutes.
  • Meet monthly during the fall and spring semesters with Clinical Leads to develop clinical process improvements.
  • Lead and facilitate adjunct retreats in the fall and spring semester.

Qualifications

  • Masters in nursing education or actively working toward.
  • Two years’ clinical experience in nursing.
  • Licenses, Certifications, Or Registrations Required:
    • Licensure as a Registered Nurse.

Preferred qualifications:

  • MSN in Nursing Education preferred.
