Faculty Cardiothoracic and Critical Care Anesthesiologist

About the role

A dual-trained Cardiothoracic and Critical Care Anesthesiologist is sought to join a top academic medical center's high-acuity environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced anesthesiology care for cardiothoracic surgeries, including ECMO, LVAD, robotics, and transplants
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of cardiac surgeons, perfusionists, and nurses
• Support a high-volume cardiac program with a focus on complex procedures and transplant surgeries
• Offer ICU coverage, contributing to postoperative patient management
• Participate in teaching and mentoring medical students, residents, and fellows in an academic setting
• Engage in scientific inquiry and clinical research to advance cardiothoracic anesthesiology
• Deliver expert anesthesia care during complex cardiothoracic and transplant surgeries
• Support ICU patient management and postoperative recovery
• Mentor and educate future anesthesiologists and medical trainees
• Contribute to clinical research and quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications & Skills

• Board certification in anesthesiology with specialized training in cardiothoracic and critical care anesthesia
• Experience with ECMO, LVAD, robotic surgeries, and transplant procedures preferred
• Strong teamwork, communication, and collaboration skills
• Commitment to education and scholarly activity in an academic environment
