About the role

Teaches students effectively in assigned classes and maintains office hours for student consultation.

Responsibilities

  • Provides students with a written course syllabus.
  • Participates in the evaluation of the instructional process and uses innovative strategies to continually improve learning.
  • Participates in development and support of their discipline by recommending books and materials, revising curricula, and recommending teaching assignments when appropriate.
  • Maintains accurate and complete course records.
  • Performs professional activities and assumes professional responsibilities as agreed upon with the division dean.
  • Assists in achieving shared goals and visions within the division.
  • Incorporates diverse learning styles into instruction.
  • Advises students and registers them.
  • Utilizes technology to facilitate learning and access data.
  • Maintains compliance with Dallas College policies and procedures.
  • Serves on and attends college committees as assigned.
  • Attends campus commencement exercises and other required meetings and activities.
  • Completes required Dallas College Professional Development training hours annually.
  • Supports the college in various marketing activities.
  • Promotes the college in the community.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or higher in Nursing from a regionally accredited institution.
  • At least 18 graduate hours in Nursing.
  • Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas or eligibility to obtain one prior to employment.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of recent clinical nursing experience.
  • Teaching experience in a postsecondary or clinical setting preferred.
  • Experience with online instruction, curriculum development, and student-centered teaching preferred.
  • Bilingual or multilingual preferred.

Qualifications

Compensation Range: Varies by Program and Contract
FLSA: United States of America (Exempt)

Schedule

All positions are considered on-site roles. After six months of employment, employees may have the opportunity to apply for a hybrid work schedule.
