Factory Team Lead

About the role

The Factory Team Leader supports the Supervisor in leading, guiding, and mentoring team members. This role is responsible for leading production operators and technicians to ensure safe, high-quality, on-time delivery of KONE components. The Team Leader acts as the first interface between workers and the Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Lead production operatives by studying production schedules and estimating work hour requirements for job assignments.
• Drive safety, productivity, and quality in production alongside the supervisor.
• Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers and assign duties.
• Maintain production records.
• Suggest changes in working conditions and equipment use to increase efficiency.
• Allocate operatives to work stations in cooperation with the production supervisor.
• Train operatives on new tasks.
• Work closely with the supervisor to drive a culture of continuous improvement.

Performance Measures

• Volume per shift productivity and efficiency.
• Optimize direct working hours by reducing indirect hours through best use of resources.
• Reduce lost time in production.
• Daily communication to the team (Targets, Quality, IIFR, etc.).
• Ensure on-time completion of tasks.
• Reduce rework and production scraps.
• Maintain safety and environmental measures.
• Encourage and implement ideas and suggestions in the area.

Requirements

• Knowledge and experience in manufacturing/operational processes.
• Solid experience in production processes and managing/leading people in standard or special production.
• Good understanding of component installation processes for better customer and quality needs.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
• High school degree.
• Basic English knowledge.
• Computer skills – MS Office and SAP is a plus.

Pay

The hiring range for this role is $28.94 – $37.96 hourly. The compensation package offered will depend on the candidate’s ability to meet the requirements of the role, business strategy needs, and factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, certifications, and location.
