About the role

Our newest factory, located along the Virginia border, breathes new life into a former brewery, creating an innovative and technologically advanced pet food manufacturing facility. We have transformed the existing structure in Rockingham County to produce leading dry dog and cat food brands, including Purina Pro Plan®, Purina ONE®, and Purina Pro Plan Veterinary Diets®. With a strong focus on sustainability and safety, this facility is committed to doing our part to care for the environment, like conserving water, investing in renewable electricity and maintaining zero waste for disposal.

As a Factory Quality Technician (Microbiologist), you will be responsible for managing routine microbiological evaluations of the factory production environment and processing systems. You will lead the factory in ensuring that all quality operations aspects are in place and high functioning including, but not limited to verification activities, documentation, and recordkeeping.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee factory Pathogen Monitoring Program
  • Interact extensively with the operations group and influence, coach, and train all other factory personnel with regards to QA requirements and expectations
  • Responsible for the proper use and maintenance of lab equipment including the maintenance, cleaning, and calibration
  • Work as a team with other lab associates to achieve shift, department, and factory objectives

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • 1+ years of laboratory, quality assurance and/or food manufacturing experience required

Pay

The approximate pay range for this position is $44,030 - $63,460. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location.
