Duties And Functions

  • Coordinate all healthcare training activities for Camp East Montana clinical and administrative staff.
  • Develop and maintain annual training plans and schedules.
  • Manage employee onboarding and assist with clinical components of orientation programs.
  • Track completion of mandatory training and competency requirements, including:
    • IHSC-required training
    • ICE-required training
    • Annual competencies
    • CPR/BLS/ACLS certifications
    • Occupational health requirements
    • Security-related training
    • Compliance and privacy training
  • Maintain accurate training records and documentation.
  • Monitor staff compliance with required training deadlines.
  • Prepare and submit training compliance reports to leadership.
  • Cook up remediation plans for overdue or deficient training requirements.
  • Facilitate classroom, virtual, and competency-based training sessions.
  • Celebrate skills validation events and annual competency assessments.
  • Support implementation of new policies, procedures, workflows, and systems through training initiatives.
  • Conduct audits of training records to ensure compliance and inspection readiness.
  • Aid in preparation for ODO, IHSC, accreditation, and contractual reviews.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to identify training gaps and performance improvement opportunities.
  • Cook up continuing education requirements and professional licensure maintenance.
  • Maintain learning management systems, databases, and training rosters.
  • Develop educational materials, presentations, and job aids as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all protected health information (PHI) and personally identifiable information (PII).

Education And Experience

  • Current unrestricted professional healthcare license (RN, NP, PA, MD, DO, Psychologist, or other licensed healthcare professional).
  • Minimum three (3) years of clinical healthcare experience, including experience in clinical education, staff development, competency management or training coordination.
  • Experience maintaining training records and regulatory compliance documentation.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and electronic learning platforms.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience serving as a Clinical Educator, Staff Development Coordinator, Training Officer, Nurse Educator, or similar healthcare training role.
  • Experience in correctional healthcare, detention healthcare, federal healthcare, military medicine, or institutional healthcare settings.
  • Knowledge of IHSC policies, ICE detention standards, and healthcare accreditation requirements.
  • Experience supporting audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews.
  • Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP), Training Certificate, or similar professional credential.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIS)

  • 100% completion of mandatory training requirements within established deadlines.
  • Timely completion of new employee orientation and onboarding.
  • Maintenance of audit-ready training records at all times.
  • Successful completion of required annual competency assessments.
  • Reduction of overdue training and certification deficiencies.
  • Positive inspection outcomes related to staff training compliance.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to conduct classroom and hands-on training activities.
  • Ability to move throughout the facility to support training and competency validation activities.
  • Ability to lift training materials and equipment up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to work in a detention environment and support operational schedules as required.

Schedule

This full-time position requires working days, evenings, as well as weekends and holidays. Specific hours will be determined by the facility needs. On-call availability is not required.
