Facility Security Officer 2 (FSO)
Job Overview
The Facility Security Officer 2 interprets, implements, and maintains a highly-effective security program consistent with all regulatory, government policies and provides supplemental guidance to the business and its leaders.
Essential Functions
- Use an analytical and risk-management-based approach to implement the security program.
- Provide briefings through public speaking, facilitated trainings, and written guidance.
- Process and protect personally identifiable information (PII) and other sensitive personal information in a professional manner with regard to reporting responsibilities.
- Effectively apply physical and procedural security measures with minimal impact to business operations.
- Prepare, maintain, and protect official records auditable by U.S. Government representatives
- Maintain, audit, and evaluate the industrial security program to provide a safe and secure environment to protect employees and company assets.
- Oversee automated access control, intrusion detection, and CCTV systems.
- Manage access of support vendors, consultants, and contractors to the facility
- Formalize security program with other organizations, especially Export Control, Facilities, and Information Technology.
- Conduct investigations regarding sensitive issues and violations of written policies; issue disciplinary guidance as needed.
- Interact with functional business groups, senior management, and government representatives.
- Represent the facility when interacting with senior AEVEX Corporate executives, site management, and government representatives on security and asset protection issues.
- Liaison with local and federal law enforcement, federal investigators, and emergency response personnel.
- Interpret and administer existing policies and develop, document, implement, and communicate revisions to existing policies or new policies, processes, and procedures
- Develop educational programs and preside over training sessions for all employees with regard to security
- Provide continuing education and training programs such as briefings and newsletters.
- Manage foreign travel safety and reporting program.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Competencies
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills required as well as strong analytical ability leading to exemplary execution.
- Possess a high degree of organizational and communications skills, both written and verbal.
- Must be able to work independently and irregular hours, as required.
- Ability to efficiently partner with functional organizations and possess the ability to solve complex challenges independently in compliance with written and verbal guidance from both internal and external Customers as appropriate meeting business objectives.
- Proficient in using various software tools packages such as Visio, CAD, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Access and Microsoft Project
- Proficient procedural documentation skills are required.
Education / Certifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or similar experience.
- Completion of all Defense Security Service FSO training requirements for safeguarding facility - Industrial Security Professional (ISP) certification is a plus.
Experience
- 3+ years of experience in the industrial security field.
- Experience in managing lab spaces.
- COMSEC management experience.
- Experience working with government information systems of record and a general understanding of personnel security investigation requirements is required.
Physical Requirements
Frequent sitting, reaching to use computers and other office equipment, and standing for extended periods of time.
Security Clearance
Ability to obtain/maintain a Top Secret/SCI DoD clearance, U.S. Citizenship required.
