Facility Operations Assistant 1, Hutchings Psychiatric Center, P27724

Responsibilities

• Maintain the cleanliness of all patient living areas, wards, and common areas such as the day room to ensure Joint Commission standards are maintained
• Move heavy furniture
• Remove trash, handle infectious waste, and clean bodily fluids
• Manage soiled linen and clean linen laundry
• Operate self-propelled and motorized equipment, including burnishers, walk-behind floor scrubbers, lawn mowers, pumps, compressors, vehicles, small trucks, and light construction equipment
• Clean debris, garbage, and hazards across the entire outside campus
• Assist in snow removal for all ground walkways and sidewalks in coordination with the Work Control Department
• Set up for grounds special events, including outdoor tents, job fair signage, tables, and blood drives

Requirements

• Physically able to perform the duties of the position
• Able to communicate effectively to obtain and convey information
• Possess a valid New York State driver’s license appropriate for the type of vehicle to be operated, when required
