About the role

Facility Operations Assistant 1 – Grounds functions as a grounds keeper responsible for performing routine manual tasks to maintain the appearance and condition of the hospital grounds, walkways, and garage. Tasks may require medium to heavy physical effort.

Responsibilities

• Raking, sweeping, shoveling, and removing debris, leaves, and branches by hand
• Removal of snow and ice
• Operating a riding mower, snow blower, skid steer, snow plow equipped truck with a salter, push mowers, weed whackers, backpack blowers, front end loaders, chainsaws, and similar equipment

Requirements

• Physically able to perform the duties of the position
• Ability to communicate effectively to obtain and convey information
• Valid New York State driver’s license appropriate for the type of vehicle operated (when required to operate a motor vehicle)

Pay

This position is eligible for a Down State adjustment of $4,150.
