About the Role

A Facility Maintenance Worker ensures the functionality of the venue before, during, and after events. This role performs a variety of maintenance tasks, including painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, mechanical repairs, snow removal, and electrical or construction tasks to maintain the venue's appearance and operations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs, preventative, and regularly scheduled maintenance projects, including general facility upkeep.
  • Maintain interior and exterior areas, including painting, elevator repair, bathroom maintenance, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing work.
  • Inspect systems throughout the facility to detect malfunctions and determine repair solutions.
  • Coordinate with outside vendors on repair and maintenance as needed.
  • Repair facility systems and equipment, such as washrooms, fixtures, pumps, lighting, and AC/DC drives.
  • Maintain an organized shop system for inventory, tools, materials, and equipment.
  • Accurately update maintenance logs and work orders.
  • Assist with purchasing work materials as directed.
  • Support other operations departments, including event setup, seat and riser maintenance, and housekeeping.
  • Respond to emergencies, such as power outages or water leaks.
  • Adhere to ASM Global Safety Policies and OSHA guidelines.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of related work experience.
  • Ability to read, communicate, and follow directions effectively in English (verbally and in writing).
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
  • Skill in using tools, equipment, and materials related to facility maintenance.
  • Awareness of hazards and safety precautions in maintenance work.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, sketches, and preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Capability to establish and maintain professional working relationships with staff and contractors.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to walk, stand for long hours, talk, and hear.
  • Work inside or outside the building as needed by events.
  • Frequently kneel, climb, balance, bend, stoop, and maneuver throughout the facility.
  • Ability to ascend/descend stairs, ladders, and elevated platforms.
  • Frequently lift, carry, or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts, noise, and varying environmental conditions.
  • Must be able to use a two-way radio.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Trade school certification.
