Responsibilities
- Service and maintain all HVAC equipment, including cabinet coolers.
- Adhere to industrial safety standards for working with pressurized air, fluids, and gases.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and yearly preventive maintenance (PM) on all HVAC units and remaining facility equipment.
- Maintain a safe working environment by complying with all safety and environmental policies; report near misses and safety hazards, and wear required PPE.
- Maintain plant equipment, buildings, and grounds, including but not limited to:
- Lighting, electrical distribution, and alarm systems
- Water sprinkler system, air compressors, and air dryers
- Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC)
- Chilled water systems, water towers, DI water, and water reticulation pumps
- Filters and air reticulation systems
- Buildings, grounds, and perimeter fencing
- Cutting fluid reticulation, compressed air reticulation, and cooling water reticulation
- Overhead cranes and jib hoists
- Parking lots, grounds management, snow removal, and line striping
- Drywall refinishing and general painting
- Perform seasonal duties such as winterizing external plant equipment and snow/ice removal from drives, walkways, and parking lots.
- Service and maintain all air systems.
- Maintain offices and supplement janitorial housekeeping.
- Maintain CMMS records and proper documentation.
- Collaborate with Safety, Production, Maintenance, and Environmental teams.
- Assist the HR/Safety Department in training and approving contractors on company safety and workplace policies.
- Assist the Engineering Department with facility additions, improvements, and modifications.
- Create purchase orders for parts, equipment, and outside services.
- Comply with and advocate for all company policies, procedures, and work instructions.
- Assist the Engineering Department in developing parts lists for new and existing equipment.
- Assist with the installation of new equipment and work through acceptance processes.
- Operate all types of aerial work platforms (AWP), forklifts, boom trucks, scissor lifts, and other heavy equipment for high overhead jobs.
- Respond to customer requests with urgency.
- Respond to emergency situations during and after work hours to resolve immediate safety concerns.
Requirements
- EPA Technician License Type—Universal.
- Associate’s Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred; minimum of high school education or GED equivalency with 2 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and comprehend company policies, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine work activity and failure reports, as well as basic work instructions.
- Ability to speak respectfully and effectively with customers and other employees.
- Microsoft Office and Maximo computerized maintenance management software experience preferred.
- SAP Integrated Business Software knowledge preferred.
- Occasional travel, up to 5%, including international.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to talk or hear.
- Occasionally required to sit; frequently required to stand, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
- Regularly lift and/or move 10 pounds at various heights; occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds to head level.
- Frequently required to work in awkward positions and perform torqueing or maneuvering of very heavy objects (up to 500 pounds with mechanical rigging or devices).
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
