About the role

The Facility Maintenance Technician-Building Trades position is responsible for performing painting duties, including scraping, sanding, caulking, glazing, and priming various surfaces. Additional responsibilities may include assisting with small masonry projects.

Responsibilities

• Painting residential and academic buildings, fixtures, and equipment
• Scraping, sanding, caulking, glazing, and priming a variety of paintable surfaces
• Assisting with small masonry projects

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent and two years of experience in trade(s) areas assigned
• Valid driver’s license
• Acceptable driving record with no more than one minor at fault accident or violation in the past three years

Qualifications

• Customer Service: Ability to provide high-quality service and respond to customer needs accurately, effectively, and timely.
• Knowledge: Technical knowledge of specialized trade techniques and processes, and general knowledge of established trade procedures and techniques.
• Communication: Ability to convey information clearly and confidently, and develop and deliver written information to individuals or groups.
• Planning/Organizing: Ability to prioritize tasks and implement procedures to ensure effective and efficient task completion.
• Change Management: Flexibility to adapt to changing demands.
