About the Role

Investigate, report, coordinate, and resolve maintenance and repair activities related to the DDS building facilities, grounds, and office furniture equipment. Monitor the Facility email inbox and investigate facility issues reported by staff.

  • Set up furniture for various conference rooms
  • Move office furniture
  • Clean offices
  • Replenish paper for all office copiers
  • Collect documents for destruction
  • Receive incoming shipments
  • Prepare equipment to be sent to State Surplus for auction or discarding
  • Assist in organizing and maintaining the Division’s warehouse space
  • Transport material to and from office location to the warehouse
  • Assist with clearing and treating parking lots and sidewalks from ice, snow, and other debris

Two large office buildings totaling over 66,000 square feet, both single-story. The majority of office space is filled with cubicles, with a limited number of walled offices on the perimeter of the buildings.

Requirements

Physical Job Requirements

  • Stand: Must be able to stand constantly up to eight (8) hours per day
  • Sit: Minimal sitting at a desk and computer, less than one hour per day
  • Lift: Must be able to constantly lift over 50 pounds from the ground and stock shelves with boxes weighing the same or more on a frequent basis; must be able to lift in excess of 100 pounds when necessary
  • Push: Must be able to push large carts of equipment and boxes weighing over 100 pounds throughout a large office setting
  • Bending: Must be able to frequently bend at the waist and knees throughout an eight (8)-hour workday
  • Kneeling: Frequent kneeling to lift heavy boxes and equipment, and to troubleshoot issues in low areas
  • Crouching: Occasional crouching required
  • Temperature: Office buildings are at normal room temperature; must be able to handle hot and extreme cold temperatures occasionally when outside or when HVAC is non-operational
  • Noise: Hearing protection equipment will be provided if necessary

Employee will work with contractors performing maintenance and service for buildings and must effectively communicate in real-time to ensure safety and relay service requirements.
