About the role
Senior LIFE provides comprehensive care and services to the elderly population, focusing on the whole member—medical, social, emotional, and physical needs—to enable seniors to remain independent and active with the best possible quality of life. The Facility Manager oversees the facilities and environmental services arm of the center, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and general maintenance. This role requires a strong work ethic, team-focused attitude, outstanding analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills to handle a variety of situations.
Senior LIFE is an innovative program using a team approach to provide medical, social, nutritional, and rehabilitation services at the Senior LIFE Center, along with in-home nursing care, personal care, and other homecare services as needed.
Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee goals and objectives for the Environmental Services Department.
- Handle new problems and situations efficiently and effectively as they arise.
- Research, recommend, and purchase facilities equipment and supplies.
- Arrange fire drills and train staff and members in critical disaster safety procedures, plus establish preventative measures for the center.
- Coordinate medical equipment delivery to in-home members.
- Maintain and repair homebound members’ medical equipment.
- Update material data safety sheets as required.
- Serve as the chairperson of the Safety Committee, collaborating with other LIFE Center staff on environmental, safety, and facilities issues.
Requirements
- At least two years’ experience in a relevant field.
- At least one year of experience working in a nursing home or other health/social services environment.
- High school diploma or GED.
