Facility Maintenance Associate - 40hrs
Responsibilities
- Performs a variety of routine servicing and repair operations to Connecticut Children’s buildings, equipment, furnishings, fixtures, and maintains grounds in proper condition, including lawn care and snow removal as required.
- Installs office partitions, furniture, and equipment.
- Changes light bulbs as needed.
- Assembles new equipment (not covered by trade technicians) as needed.
- Prepares surfaces and applies paint.
- Performs preventive maintenance and safety inspections on equipment as scheduled.
- Lifts, moves, and transports all types of supplies, furniture and equipment.
- Aids in setting offices as directed.
- Performs all phases of cleaning operations including but not limited to waste removal, lavatories, floors, and overall classroom cleanliness when environmental services associate is unavailable.
- Maintains and stores equipment and cleaning tools.
- Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications
- Education and/or Experience Required: High School diploma or GED required. 2-year Grounds maintenance experience.
- Knowledge: Assembly of light duty furniture, i.e. Rolling Shelving, Clinical Carts, and other related items. Repair and maintenance of grounds equipment, motorized and non-motorized.
- Skills: Must be able to prioritize work requests and handle multiple tasks while projecting a courteous image. Must be mechanically inclined. Must be able to lift and manage 50lbs of weight.
- Abilities: Ability to read, follow instructions, and use basic math skills required. Incumbent must be flexible and adapt easily to changes in schedule, work assignments and environment, including working weekends, holidays, and on-call hours. Ability to work with others.
