Essential Responsibilities
- Perform routine building maintenance and general facility upkeep.
- Maintain lighting, electrical fixtures, minor plumbing, doors, ceilings, flooring, and interior/exterior building components.
- Support facility utility systems including HVAC, compressed air, and related infrastructure.
- Manage and support chemical reagent and waste handling, including proper segregation, storage, labeling, and coordination for disposal in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor facility conditions and proactively address maintenance needs.
- Cook up and oversee external contractors and vendors for repairs, inspections, and specialized services not performed internally.
- Assist with facility improvement projects and preventive maintenance programs.
- Operate a forklift for movement of equipment, materials, and supplies.
Laboratory & Equipment Maintenance
- Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, calibration, and validation of laboratory and production equipment, including oligo synthesizer, automated liquid handling systems, HPLC, and general lab instrumentation.
- Interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Support installation and qualification of new or upgraded equipment.
- Maintain equipment reliability and reduce unplanned downtime.
Documentation & Compliance
- Document work orders, preventive maintenance, and repairs.
- Maintain records in compliance with Quality System requirements.
- Follow all cGMP, ISO, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Handle hazardous materials using proper PPE and established procedures.
- Maintain required certifications (RCRA, HAZWOPER, DOT HazMat).
Operational Support
- Communicate effectively across shifts.
- Maintain dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Work overtime, weekends, and emergency call-ins as required.
- Complete required training and perform other related duties as assigned.
