Facility in NY Seeks a Locums Psychiatrist

About the role

Work in a Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP) located above the emergency room, providing psychiatric emergency care and assisting with consults on medical/surgical floors during evening and overnight shifts. Approximately 70%‑80% of patients are discharged from the program.

Responsibilities

• Provide psychiatric evaluation and treatment in the CPEP setting.
• Assist with consults on med/surg floors during evening/overnight shifts.
• Manage patient flow, seeing 8‑12 patients per 8‑hour shift (up to 20‑50 patients in CPEP at once).

Requirements

• Primary coverage needed: 12 am – 8 am, Sunday through Thursday nights.
• Shifts range from 4 to 16 hours; 8‑ to 12‑hour shifts are preferred.
• Minimum commitment of 6 overnight shifts per month (approximately 48 hours).
• Ability to handle 8‑12 patients per 8‑hour shift, with up to 20‑50 patients present in the CPEP at any time.

Pay

Competitive compensation ranging from $185.00 to $220.00 per hour (all‑inclusive, combining base pay with potential overtime, call, and holiday earnings). Exact rate depends on critical need, experience, qualifications, and other factors.

Schedule
