Key Activities
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems including lighting, power distribution, motors, controls, panels, and equipment.
- Perform troubleshooting, preventative, and predictive maintenance on electrical systems to minimize down time and extend equipment life.
- Diagnose complex facility issues and implement effective, code-compliant solutions.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
- Respond to urgent maintenance issues and facility emergencies as needed. After hours maintenance as needed.
- Carry out routine inspections of buildings, equipment, and systems to identify maintenance or safety issues.
- Ensure all work complies with applicable building codes, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Support safety audits and regulatory inspections.
- Support grounds maintenance tasks, including seasonal needs (e.g., snow removal, exterior upkeep).
- Coordinate with and oversee contractors and vendors performing specialized or regulated work.
- Aid with facility projects, office moves, equipment installations, and minor renovations.
- Verify quality and safety of contractor work.
- Maintain accurate work orders, maintenance logs, and equipment documentation.
- Communicate clearly with management, coworkers, and building occupants regarding maintenance activities.
- Follow lockout/tagout, arc flash, and other electrical safety procedures.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Journeyman status in a skilled trade (electrical, HVAC, plumbing, or related field).
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on facilities or building maintenance experience at the journeyman level or equivalent.
- Strong working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building systems.
- Ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions.
