Position Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary executor of building operations, handling daily needs, vendor interactions, and site emergencies.
  • Perform or coordinate basic grounds and lawn maintenance, including mowing, trimming, and upkeep of outdoor areas to ensure a safe and professional environment.
  • Responsible for coordinating routine maintenance and repair of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, elevator, and safety systems.
  • Address staff requests for maintenance, custodial services, equipment needs, furniture movement, and HVAC promptly.
  • Implement and track maintenance schedules to ensure consistent building performance.
  • Manage vendor contracts by arranging service, being available onsite as work is conducted, inspecting work, and confirming quality and completion.
  • Execute room set-up for meetings and events, including arranging furniture, coordinating audiovisual needs, and ensuring all supplies are in place and functioning prior to use.
  • Maintain and replenish building materials and supplies, ensuring appropriate storage and distribution.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Hands-on facilities and building maintenance experience with proven ability to execute operational responsibilities directly
  • Time management skills
  • Ability to communicate professionally
  • Minimum of 5 years required in facility maintenance environments.

Work Environment Requirements

  • This position is primarily performed in a professional office environment.
  • The role routinely uses standard office equipment, including computers, telephones, printers, and related technology.
  • The position may involve occasional travel, meetings, or attendance at events, as applicable to the role.
  • Work hours are generally standard business hours, with occasional evening or weekend work as needed.

Physical Demands

  • To perform the essential functions of this position, the employee must be able to carry out a variety of physical and environmental tasks associated with facilities operations and grounds maintenance, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to regularly stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach while performing building and outdoor maintenance tasks.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or move materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to operate tools and equipment used in both facility maintenance and lawn/grounds care (e.g., hand tools, power tools, landscaping equipment).
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, humidity, and occasional inclement weather.
  • Ability to safely navigate building spaces and outdoor grounds, including uneven terrain.
  • Ability to respond to facility needs and emergencies in a timely manner, which may require flexibility in schedule and physical demands.
