FACILITY COORDINATOR
Location: Pinnacle Mountain State Park, Little Rock, AR (Pulaski County)
Salary range: $43,088 – $63,770 (starting salary $43,088.03)
About the role
The Facility Coordinator oversees the daily operations, maintenance, and logistics of the visitor center at Pinnacle Mountain State Park. This position ensures the facility is safe, clean, functional, welcoming, and prepared to serve park visitors, employees, and volunteers. The coordinator works directly with the Facility Supervisor/Expert and manages the gift shop, facility reservations, and daily upkeep.
Responsibilities
- Monitor daily facility operations, ensuring buildings, equipment, and grounds are maintained in good working condition.
- Schedule and coordinate preventative maintenance, repairs, and facility inspections.
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards, including OSHA, ADA, and environmental regulations.
- Track and report facility issues, ensuring timely resolution through maintenance teams or contractors.
- Supervise staff by interviewing, recommending hires/fires, assigning and reviewing work, counseling, and evaluating performance.
- Manage inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment.
- Coordinate facility reservations and space utilization for meetings, events, and department needs, including reservations at Lake Sylvia.
- Oversee facility access, security, and visitor procedures in coordination with relevant departments.
- Assist in developing and enforcing facility policies and guidelines for state employees and visitors.
- Support emergency preparedness by maintaining evacuation plans and emergency contact lists.
- Manage vendor relationships, ensuring timely and cost-effective service for cleaning, landscaping, security, and maintenance.
- Verify contractor compliance with state procurement policies and service agreements.
- Maintain facility records, including maintenance logs, inspection reports, and service agreements.
- Assist in budget tracking and expense reporting for facility-related expenditures.
- Provide input on cost-saving initiatives and resource allocation to improve efficiency.
- Support procurement of supplies and equipment as needed.
- Maintain gift shop standards by ordering and receiving products, counting inventory, and cleaning.
- Perform daily cleaning tasks, including wiping countertops and displays, scrubbing toilets, cleaning windows and doors, and taking out trash.
- Operate the POS system, handle money, and ensure the building is securely locked during opening and closing.
Requirements
- Minimum of one year of facility management experience.
- Knowledge of facility operations, maintenance procedures, and safety regulations.
- Familiarity with building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and security systems.
- Ability to use facility management software and work order tracking systems.
- Understanding of state procurement and contract management processes.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for coordinating with staff, vendors, and contractors.
- Knowledge of inventory control, purchasing, procurement procedures, and customer service.
- Ability to greet customers and provide information about facility services and functions.
- Ability to plan, organize, and oversee the work of subordinates and coordinate work activities.
