About the role

The City of Concord is accepting applications for part-time Community Center Facility Attendants to support the Recreation Services Department. This recruitment will fill a current vacancy at the Senior Center and establish an eligibility list for future positions.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main point of contact for instructors, participants, and renters during scheduled shifts
  • Set up, take down, and clean up of the facility before and after events and classes as assigned
  • Effectively communicate and enforce facility policies and procedures
  • Effectively communicate program and schedule information to customers
  • Complete all paperwork required for rentals and classes
  • Use strong verbal and written communication skills to provide information to customers, co-workers, and supervisors
  • Maintain appropriate attention to detail based on the complexity of work performed
  • Give appropriate attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate
  • Convey written and/or nonwritten information effectively, comprehending and understanding documentation and verbal or visual communications
  • Use logic and reasoning to identify approaches to solving problems
  • Actively look for ways to help people
  • Speak clearly, concisely, and audibly
  • Work efficiently and accurately on tasks with interruptions
  • Make acceptable decisions
  • Meet the physical requirements of the work
  • Understand and carry out oral and written instructions
  • Establish and maintain cooperative and effective relationships with those contacted in the course of work

Requirements

  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer services including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for service, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
  • Ability to give appropriate attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate
  • Ability to maintain appropriate attention to detail based on the complexity of work performed
  • Ability to convey written and/or nonwritten information effectively, comprehending and understanding documentation and verbal or visual communications
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify approaches to solving problems
  • Ability to actively look for ways to help people
  • Ability to speak and understand Spanish (desirable but not required)

Qualifications

  • FACILITY ATTENDANT I: Satisfactory completion of high school or the equivalent, none required
  • FACILITY ATTENDANT II: Satisfactory completion of high school or the equivalent, one or more years in a customer service-driven field, facilities experience desirable

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
  • Physical stamina to handle the demands of the job

Benefits

This position is not eligible for benefits.

Pay

Salary is negotiable based on experience.

FACILITY ATTENDANT I: $17.22 - $19.48

FACILITY ATTENDANT II: $18.09 - $20.47

Schedule

This is a part-time position, working approximately 5-20 hours per week depending on facility bookings.
