About the role

The Facility and Engineering Supervisor oversees the day-to-day maintenance, reliability, and performance of facility and utility systems supporting manufacturing and business operations. This role supervises maintenance staff and contractors, coordinates preventive and corrective maintenance programs, and ensures compliance with GMP, FDA, OSHA, and company standards.

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance and troubleshooting of HVAC systems, AHUs, chillers, boilers, compressed air, and building utilities.
  • Oversee the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of clean utility systems, including Water for Injection (WFI), classified Air Handling Units (AHUs), compressed air systems, and process gas distribution networks, ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor Building Automation Systems (BMS and FMS) and utility performance to ensure reliable operations.
  • Coordinate preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance activities.
  • Manage work orders and supervise maintenance technicians and contractors.
  • Support HVAC systems in cleanroom environments, including temperature, humidity, pressure differentials, and HEPA filtration.
  • Ensure adherence to cGMP, FDA, OSHA, EPA, and company requirements, as well as all applicable federal, state, and local regulations related to facilities, utilities, environmental compliance, and employee safety.
  • Maintain facility, utility, and maintenance documentation, including SOPs and preventive maintenance records.
  • Serve as the Clean Utility representative during FDA, customer, and internal audits.
  • Support investigations, deviations, CAPAs, change controls, and audit readiness activities.
  • Coordinate calibration, validation, and qualification activities for utility systems and equipment.
  • Manage spare parts inventory and procurement of maintenance materials.
  • Oversee pest control, janitorial services, and facility sanitation programs.
  • Participate in facility projects, equipment installations, commissioning, and upgrades.
  • Respond to emergency calls and participate in an on-call rotation.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to maintenance staff.
  • Promote safety, reliability, and continuous improvement throughout facility operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a biotech, pharmaceutical, or medical device setting.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of supervisory or team leader experience.

Pay

Base Salary Range: $100,000 to $110,000 (dependent on years of experience and fit for the position) with up to a 10% yearly discretionary cash bonus.

Schedule

This position is onsite 5 days a week from 9 AM EST to 5:30 PM EST.

Working Environment

  • High-paced, demanding environment to meet ambitious project goals.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
  • Some travel may be involved.
  • Supervisory responsibility for a team of maintenance mechanics.
