About the role

This role is responsible for day-to-day data center engineering operations, with a focus on critical facility infrastructure, reliability, and operational performance. The position supports both on-the-ground execution and team-level coordination, especially during site activation. This is an opportunity to support a next-generation, liquid-cooled hyperscale data center and gain exposure to complex electrical and mechanical infrastructure at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Support data center engineering operations, including preventative and corrective maintenance of critical systems, risk identification, mitigation, and incident response.
  • Operate and maintain key infrastructure systems such as switchgear, generators, UPS systems, PDUs, chillers, cooling towers, CRAC/CRAH units, and building monitoring systems (BMS/EPMS).
  • Assist with site commissioning and readiness during early build phases.
  • Coordinate work across shift technicians, senior technicians, subcontractors, and vendors, ensuring all work meets operational standards.
  • Track and report on performance metrics, assets, and inventory.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders (IT, engineering, operations) to optimize capacity, efficiency, and uptime.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts and future site scalability.
  • Deliver quality service and ensure all customer demands are met.

Requirements

  • 1-2+ years of experience in data center operations, critical facilities (electrical/mechanical), or infrastructure/field engineering environments.
  • Experience working with critical systems, including electrical distribution (UPS, generators, switchgear) or cooling/HVAC systems.
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to work in a hands-on, fast-paced, on-site environment.
  • Strong communication, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and operate in complex environments.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or a Technical (Military/Trade School) Degree with relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior hyperscale data center experience.
  • Degree or technical training in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a relevant discipline.
  • A fundamental knowledge of network design and layout, as well as low-voltage (copper/fiber) cabling.
  • Exposure to coordinating technicians, vendors, or subcontractors.
