About the Role
The Facility Technician supports Celldex’s Fall River operations by performing maintenance on equipment within a GxP and general research facility. This facility consists of research, quality control, pre-clinical and analytical development laboratories, a GMP clinical manufacturing facility, warehouse, and office space. The technician will prioritize the workload around departmental schedules in order to complete required preventative and routine maintenance activities.
Responsibilities
- Perform morning and evening daily rounds.
- Perform maintenance and/or repair in both GxP and non-GxP environments on process equipment such as autoclaves, glass washers, HVAC, steam boiler, standby generators, purified water systems and temperature control units.
- Perform general facility maintenance, i.e., basic carpentry, drywall repair, painting, replacing ceiling tiles, office furniture repair/installation.
- Troubleshoot and repair utility, process and mechanical equipment.
- Complete logbooks, equipment specific forms and work-orders consistently and accurately, while maintaining organized documentation files.
- Assist senior level technicians.
- Operate Building Management System (BMS) and provide after hours call-back for alarm coverage.
- Support contract cleaning of the Fall River facility.
- Perform any additional job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Graduate.
- 0-3 years experience performing general plant maintenance (a plus).
- GMP Experience is a plus.
- Some working knowledge of mechanical, plumbing, electrical systems and associated instrumentation (ability to read and understand blueprints and wiring diagrams a plus).
- General word processing ability including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to work following standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- The ability to work independently within a team environment.
- Must be detail-oriented.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work after hours when necessary.
- The ability to perform manual labor, work in enclosed areas, and operate both power and manual tools.
- Strong written and interpersonal skills.
Physical Requirements
- Effectively handle lifting of various objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- The ability to work on a ladder.
Pay
The expected base salary for this position is $42,350.00 to $55,000.00.
