About the role
Arcosa Aggregates is seeking a Facilities Tech for our San Tan Valley, AZ Plant. This role is responsible for performing repairs, preventative maintenance, and inspections on plant equipment—including crushers, conveyors, screens, and pumps—to ensure safe and efficient operations. Expertise in welding, fabrication, and troubleshooting is required, along with a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and emergency repairs on plant equipment (crushers, conveyors, screens, pumps) to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
- Conduct screen changes, conveyor belt repairs/adjustments, wear parts replacements, crusher liner changes, and water pump servicing.
- Use cutting torches, grinders, and welding equipment to fabricate or repair plant components.
- Operate hand and power tools safely for equipment repairs and maintenance.
- Conduct routine machinery inspections, document findings, and report repair needs to prevent failures.
- Rebuild or fabricate parts to extend equipment life and maintain plant operations.
- Perform workplace examinations to identify and mitigate safety hazards, ensuring compliance with company and industry standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned equipment (welders, work trucks, tools).
- Assist with general plant operations (cleaning, sweeping, shoveling materials) to maintain a safe and productive work area.
- Maintain strong communication with plant employees to coordinate maintenance activities.
- Promote safety awareness and operational improvements through proactive engagement and compliance with regulations.
- Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support plant operations and maintenance goals.
Requirements
- Valid AZ Driver’s License and clean MVR (must be insurable to drive company vehicle).
- Welding experience.
- Ability to communicate clearly (verbally and in writing).
- Prompt, regular, and predictable attendance.
- Positive, team-based attitude.
- Qualified to work in a safety-sensitive environment.
- Ability to stand, stoop, bend, lift, walk, climb stairs/ladders/catwalks (up to 60 feet), and work in varied outdoor conditions (heat, cold, dust, rain).
- Must meet all MSHA safety requirements and adhere to company safety policies.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods; grip, climb, reach, shovel, squat, crawl, pull/push, and lift up to 80 pounds.
Schedule
Daytime hours, Monday through Friday, with possible overtime and Saturdays based on production needs.
