About the role

This position will report directly to the site Facility Plant Engineering Manager and will have direct oversight and responsibility over a highly skilled workforce that maintains and operates the facility. The facility sits on 22 acres in downtown Nashua NH, and has approximately 680,000 square feet of office, lab and manufacturing space.

Responsibilities

  • Receive limited direction and manage with significant discretion and with independent judgment in taking action and making decisions related to managing assigned department.
  • Provide department interface and extensive contact with the Site Executive(s), Site Leadership, Department Managers, Lab Managers, and other key building occupants.
  • Provide leadership and support as required for the Business Continuity Program and act as Incident Commander for scenarios highlighted in the Emergency Response/Incident Management Plan.
  • Develop relations and collaborate with other functional support organizations such as Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE), Security, IT, and Finance.
  • Work closely and collaborate within the facility functions such as planning, real estate, engineering, sustainability, facility services and other peer site managers.
  • Manage, select, supervise, counsel, train and evaluate a team of exempt and non-exempt personnel in accordance with company policies.
  • Ensure facility, infrastructure, grounds and parking area are maintained in a safe accessible state of repair to ensure a sustained operation 24/7/365.
  • Manage building services such as, snow removal, recycling, grounds care, repairs and maintenance using a combination of vendor and in-house resources.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local regulations and will be the authorized signing representative.
  • Support and develop multi-year capital plan and annual expense budgets. Upon final budget approvals, manage to those budgets.
  • Manage local Sustainability Initiative plans, goals and objectives, to ensure strategy alignment with company focus.
  • Design and develop improvements using state-of-the-art technology, principles, theories and concepts.

Requirements

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Experience in a leadership role with direct reports of various technical capabilities, building occupants, lab coordinators, functional managers, and executive leadership.
  • Skilled at working in a collaborative team environment with a track record of proven work experience in HVAC, Building Automation or Central Utility Plant Operations.
  • A strong mechanical and technical understanding of the following systems: HVAC Equipment including but not limited to DX Package Units, Water Cooled Central AHU’s, Air Cooled Chillers and Cooling Towers Building Automation and Digital Control Systems Low Pressure Boilers and centrifugal pumps and Heat Exchangers, Water Softening Systems, Reverse Osmosis Systems Air Compressors, Air Dryers, and Filtration Systems Ability to perform heat load & electrical load calculationsElectrical Distribution Maintenance and Lighting Emergency Generators and Transfer Switches Fire Alarm Systems, Fire Protection Systems, PIV’s, Wet Sprinkler Systems, and Kitchen Hood Systems, Hazardous Gas Detection Systems Familiarity with CMMS Software (Maximo).
  • A safety-first attitude and will be required to take Incident Commander (HAZWOPPER) training.
  • Comfortable with and have a working knowledge of a variety of computer software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, BMS Software GUI’s and other GUI administrative tools.
  • Required Education, Experience, & Skills: Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years of experience; or an Associate’s Degree and 7 years of experience; or Trades Background and 10 years of experience.

Pay

Full-Time Salary Range: $97008 - $164914 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
