Facilities Services Worker.

Duties

• Moving, arranging, and lifting heavy objects including building materials, furniture, and collections.
• Loading and unloading debris, trash, cement, sand, equipment, supplies, and other materials from trucks, vans, and cars using dolly, hand truck, hand-operated hydraulic lift, and/or by hand.
• Operating gas or LP-powered, self-propelled ride-on and other equipment.
• Performing the full range of operator-level maintenance and inspection of equipment, including inspection of fluid levels, tire pressures, and general inspection prior to operation.
• Operating forklift trucks on the loading dock, parking garage, and other areas, loading and unloading supplies from trucks, moving supplies to the shipping and receiving area, and stacking and unstacking materials in designated areas both inside and outside the building.
• Aiding with custodial tasks as required, including cleaning offices, exhibit space, restrooms, corridors, storage rooms, stairways, or any area within the building(s) using brooms, mops, buckets, heavy-duty vacuums, buffers, and scrubbers, and snow removal.

Requirements

• Pass Pre-employment Background Investigation.
• May need to complete a Probationary Period.
• Maintain a Bank Account for Direct Deposit/Electronic Transfer.
• Males born after 12/31/59 must be registered with Selective Service.
• Physical Requirements: Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs., working outside in all weather conditions, climbing ladders and stairs, standing and walking for extended periods.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid State or District of Columbia driver's license.
• Must be available to work any one of the various shifts and/or assigned workdays that include holidays, weekends, and call-back emergencies.
• Experience and training must indicate possession of the minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform the duties of this position.
