Facilities Second Shift - Amherst Middle School

Responsibilities

• Perform routine building maintenance and repairs as scheduled by the head custodian, including all custodial duties.
• Follow written work schedule and complete Cleaning Checklist.
• Operate assorted power machines, such as but not limited to, scrubbing/buffing machines, wet/dry vacuums, rug shampoo machines, etc.
• Perform various tasks requested by head custodian, principal, and school personnel.
• Fulfill requests specified on work orders.
• Responsible for checking all exits, windows and doors to see that they are properly closed and locked.
• Secure building and set alarm.
• Empty trash into dumpsters and recyclables into designated containers each day.
• Climb heights to perform required duties
• Sweep, dry mop or wet mop floors and stairs and vacuum carpeted areas daily to remove dust, dirt, paper, etc.
• Help with snow removal when needed.

Requirements

• Full-time, year-round position working 8 hours per day (night shift) during the school year and works a day schedule during school breaks and summer.
