Facilities Repairperson

About the role

Perform duties and responsibilities to maintain buildings and components including, but not limited to carpentry, painting, door repairs, heating, cooling, plumbing and other minor building repairs. Access information using appropriate software applications. Promote a safe work environment and aid in maintaining a high level of building cleanliness, maintenance and operations. May operate a University vehicle to transport materials, tools and equipment. May be required to operate an aerial lift. This position reports to a Supervisor and requires active engagement in learning and practicing principles of social justice and inclusion, environmental sustainability and delivering great customer service experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain buildings and components including carpentry, painting, door repairs, heating, cooling, plumbing and other minor building repairs
• Access information using appropriate software applications
• Promote a safe work environment
• Maintain a high level of building cleanliness, maintenance and operations
• Operate a University vehicle to transport materials, tools and equipment
• Operate an aerial lift when required
• Engage in learning and practicing principles of social justice and inclusion, environmental sustainability and delivering great customer service experience

Requirements

• High school diploma
• Three years’ experience in building maintenance field including building components such as heating, cooling, plumbing systems, carpentry and painting
• Experience using computers and mobile technology
• Valid driver’s license or ability to obtain and driver’s check
• Must wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when performing specific job functions

Initial employment contingent upon successful completion of background check and physical screening. Specific physical requirements may apply based on job functions.

Desirable Qualifications

• Anticipated Pay Range: $21.50–$25.25/hour

Special Conditions

• A probationary period may be required
• Occasional evening and/or weekends required
• This position is ineligible for telework due to the essential functions
• Background Check required for this position
• A post-offer pre-employment (POPE test) physical examination is required
