Facilities Regional Maintenance Staff

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on facility systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, cold storage, and general structural components.
  • Support maintenance needs for warehouses, cold storage units, office facilities, and other operational support buildings.
  • Conduct regular inspections of buildings, grounds, equipment, and critical systems to identify and address issues proactively.
  • Troubleshoot facility issues and respond promptly to maintenance requests, urgent repairs, and emergency situations to minimize downtime.
  • Ability to train and become skilled in management of fire protection and detection systems.
  • Cook up and oversee vendors, contractors, and service providers when outside support is required.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records through preventive maintenance programs, work orders, or CMMS tools as applicable.
  • Ensure all work complies with safety standards, environmental regulations, company policies, and established procedures.
  • Build strong working relationships with location managers, team members, contractors, and service providers to support operational needs.
  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical team members.

Requirements

  • Education and training: High school diploma or GED required. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required. Ability to obtain any required company-approved driving license or endorsement, if needed. Technical or trade school certification in facilities maintenance, HVAC, electrical, or a related field preferred. OSHA certification or other safety training preferred.
  • Technical knowledge: General knowledge of HVAC systems, including systems used in temperature-controlled storage or cold storage units. Basic understanding of electrical practices and facility-related plumbing systems. Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems in a fast-paced operational environment. Experience with preventive maintenance programs and CMMS or work order systems. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. Knowledge of safety regulations, including OSHA standards and environmental considerations. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage workload across multiple sites independently. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Physical demands & Travel: Ability and willingness to travel frequently within an assigned region. Ability to stay overnight when business needs require. Flexibility to work extended hours or respond to urgent maintenance issues during emergencies. Ability to lift 50 pounds or more and perform physically demanding tasks, including climbing ladders, working in confined spaces, prolonged standing, bending, kneeling, and walking throughout facilities and grounds.
