Facilities Project Engineer - Level 2

About the role

Syntetics, an organization within Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector, seeks a Facilities Engineer – Level 2 to support project management and execution within a small facilities team responsible for maintaining the site infrastructure and its manufacturing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Project planning, budgeting, contract management, and overseeing project execution
• Strong technical knowledge of building systems and project management skills
• Collaborate with various stakeholders, from department engineers, managers, and contractors to regulatory bodies
• Routine involvement and influence with site maintenance
• Lead projects from concept to completion, including scope definition, budget, schedule management, and contractor oversight
• Oversee the design and installation of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and other building infrastructure
• Influence preventative maintenance programs and repair activities to ensure building systems are operational and safe
• Partner with EHS on all facilities and projects to adhere to local, state, and federal health, safety, and environmental regulations
• Act as a central point of contact, collaborating with internal teams, external consultants, contractors, and vendors
• Budgeting & Cost Control: Assist in budget planning, monitor project costs, and manage contract finances to ensure projects stay within budget

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree with 0 years of professional experience
• No clearance required to start
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and utility systems, including Chillers, cooling towers, HVAC and building automation systems
• Experience in managing multiple facilities-related projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and contract administration
• Proficiency in using engineering and project management software tools such as AutoCAD and project scheduling software like Microsoft Project
• Expertise in building automation systems (BAS) and energy management systems, with experience in optimizing these systems for operational effectiveness
• Knowledge of hazardous materials: Hydrochloric, Sulfuric, and Phosphoric Acids; Acetone, Methanol

Qualifications

• Certified Professional Engineer (PE) preferred
• Experience in project management and facility operations
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex facility issues and design challenges

Pay

The annual salary range for this position is $79,600.00 - $119,400.00. Base salary offers are determined based on a number of factors including the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may also be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Additionally, Northrop Grumman provides long-term incentives to eligible employees in Vice President or Director positions.
