This Facilities Engineering role focuses on the reliability and operational efficiency of a large, interconnected campus of over a dozen buildings, including office, manufacturing, lab, and support spaces in Melbourne, FL.

Responsibilities

• Interact with maintenance technicians to troubleshoot issues as a subject matter expert on Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Building Automation/Controls.
• Support project engineers in reviewing plans for new builds and modifications, ensuring compatibility with existing infrastructure, maintainability, and suitability for stated needs.
• Support facility growth in construction, modification, operation, and production to ensure optimal equipment performance and high uptime.
• Develop and implement machine monitoring strategies to predict failures using vibration, temperature, and other variable analyses.
• Prepare presentations and reports detailing Operational Equipment Effectiveness for assigned machines.
• Aid in developing standard specifications for future equipment purchases.
• Ensure adherence to sector-driven goals, priorities, and initiatives while participating in cross-functional teams.
• Serve as the primary contact for maintaining a living document tracking capital and indirect project needs, including risk assessment, cost estimation, and project scoping.
• Manage vendors, including building controls contractors and mechanical, electrical, plumbing, or general contractors.
• Work alongside in-house project engineers and contractors to ensure seamless integration, startup, and fine-tuning of systems.

Requirements

Facilities Engineer (Level 2)

• Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline with 2 years of experience in Reliability, Manufacturing, Maintenance, Aerospace, Electrical, Aeronautical, Mechanical, or Controls engineering, or a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline.
• Understanding of infrastructure risk assessment processes.
• Experience with Word, Excel, MS Project, and PowerPoint.
• Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to obtain a DoD Secret US Clearance.

Principal Facilities Engineer (Level 3)

• Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline with 5 years of experience in Reliability, Manufacturing, Maintenance, Aerospace, Electrical, Aeronautical, Mechanical, or Controls engineering, or a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline with 3 years of experience, or a PhD in a STEM discipline with 1 year of experience.
• Demonstrated experience with infrastructure risk assessment processes.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, MS Project, and PowerPoint.
• Demonstrated experience working with Building Automation Systems.
• Proficiency in the use and utilization of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to obtain a DoD Secret US Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience as an operator and administrator of Building Automation Systems (e.g., Trane Tracer, Tridium).
• Experience in Reliability Engineering.
• Experience with Industrial IoT technology or Facility Management and Maintenance Systems (FMMS).
• Experience in installing and commissioning industrial equipment.
• Familiarity with multiple construction disciplines.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access.
• Experience with hydronics system design and operations, including large chilled water cooling systems (greater than 1000 tons), centrifugal pumps, water- and air-cooled chillers, cooling towers, chemical treatment, automated valves, air management, and Variable Frequency Drives.
• Experience with large commercial air handling equipment.
• Experience with large refrigerant-based cooling equipment.
• Experience with large-scale electrical infrastructure, including primary utility power, transformers, power distribution gear, Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS), Diesel Generators, and 400Hz power.

Pay

Primary Level (Level 2) Salary Range: $72,100.00 – $108,100.00

Secondary Level (Level 3) Salary Range: $89,400.00 – $134,200.00

Base salary offers consider factors such as scope, responsibilities, candidate experience, education, skills, and current market conditions. Additional compensation may include overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses.
