About the role

The Facilities Project Development and Data Specialist supports project development by working with stakeholders, troubleshooting equipment, and ensuring that completed construction project data is accurately captured and sustained in BUILDER.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update the BUILDER SMS database
  • Validate facility data
  • Assist in the development of prioritized repair and replacement work packages
  • Work closely with facility engineers and managers to ensure accurate planning and prioritization of deferred maintenance and recapitalization projects
  • Validate site data, review facility conditions, and troubleshoot equipment to determine repair and replacement needs
  • Develop project work packages, scopes of work, and estimates based on FCA and BUILDER data
  • Prepare reports and presentations
  • Use Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Project)

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction, facilities management, or related field
  • At least 2 years of experience working with BUILDER SMS
  • At least 1 year of experience working with a federal BUILDER SMS instance, including updating data in accordance with agency-specific manuals
  • Ability to validate site data, review facility conditions, and troubleshoot equipment to determine repair and replacement needs
  • Skilled in developing project work packages, scopes of work, and estimates based on FCA and BUILDER data
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Project)

Preferred Experience & Skills

  • Familiarity with Federal facility condition assessment programs
  • Experience supporting Federal facility programs
  • Knowledge of repair prioritization methodologies and deferred maintenance project planning
  • Experience coordinating with engineers, project managers, and facility stakeholders
  • Knowledge of Sunflower asset management system

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Facilities Management, Engineering, or related field
  • Advanced degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related discipline preferred
  • Professional certifications in facilities management (e.g., CFM, FMP) preferred
