Facilities Preventative Maintenance Engineer - Full Time Mon-Fri(Weekends may vary)

Responsibilities

  • Maintain records, inventory equipment, and replacement parts.
  • Maintain and repair property equipment, guest rooms, all building systems and equipment, lighting, plumbing, pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, all filter types, equipment, and appliances to ensure effective operation.
  • Responsible for maintaining optimum operating conditions for guest room and all other operating equipment that fall under the department responsibility.
  • Communicate with other shifts to ensure follow-up on ongoing projects to minimize downtime.
  • Respond to accident scenes and emergency calls (fire, smoke, etc.) and observe and assist.
  • Act as a maintenance representative for the Property Operations department.
  • Maintain daily record of work requests and preventative maintenance work requests via smartphone/device using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) HotSoS.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned within the scope of this position.

Requirements

  • Understand basic carpentry repairs and use of carpentry tools; basic wallpaper & drywall repair; plumbing repairs, tile repair and replacement; paint and match paint colors and sheens.
  • Ability to learn new techniques and trades.
  • Use a computer and various software programs utilized in the department and company.
  • Effectively communicate with coworkers, members of the department leadership, and other departments.
  • Ability to interpret and follow through on a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability in complex reading, writing, math, and task completion skills.
  • Must have the following skills: clerical, compiling, coordination, analyzing, precision working, following instructions, influencing others, memorization, problem solving, independent judgment, and decision making.
  • Flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, and weekend hours as business needs dictate.
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
  • Must have 1 year of general maintenance and/or construction experience or any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Facilities experience in hotel/casino/resort industry is preferred.
  • Must be able to maintain a valid driver’s license and meet GSR driving requirements.

Physical Demands

  • Constantly standing, walking, and occasionally sitting, reaching overhead, bending over, crouching, kneeling, crawling, climbing, and balancing during the duration of the shift.
  • Frequently lift/carry and push/pull up to 50 lbs or less.
  • Occasionally lift/carry up to 100 lbs or less.
  • Occasionally driving, dependent on the shift.
  • Occasionally have repetitive use of both feet, frequently have repetitive use of both hands, and require frequent light and firm/strong grasping motions.
  • Constant finger dexterity of both hands required.
  • Constant use of vision abilities including distance, depth perception, field of vision, and color vision.

Work Environment

  • Work performed indoors and outdoors, alone and frequently with and around others.
  • Perform work face-to-face including verbal contact with others on extended shifts around computer equipment, mechanical devices, flame/heat generated devices, and other electrical devices.
  • May have to work in confined areas, extreme heat, extreme cold, wet and/or humid conditions, as well as around solvents/oils, dirt/dust, moving objects, high places, and slippery surfaces.
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but may be loud at times and possible exposure to vibrations.
  • May be exposed to fumes/odor and/or secondhand smoke.
