Facilities Mechanic III

UNI’s Housing & Dining Facilities team keeps campus running, and our Facilities Mechanic IIIs are at the heart of it! From residence halls to dining centers, you’ll take on meaningful, hands‑on work that keeps student spaces safe, comfortable and fully functional.

Primary Function

• Perform plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry tasks to maintain student apartments, residence halls, and dining centers.
• Address all other maintenance duties required to keep student spaces safe, comfortable, and fully functional.

Requirements

• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electricity, and maintenance of steam and mechanical equipment.
• Four years of work experience in the listed crafts, including apprenticeship or technical training.
• At least two years of experience in the same craft.
• State of Iowa license (Electrical, Plumbing, or Mechanical) preferred.

Monday – Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm

Pay

Starting hourly rate: $28.66 hr. (potential for higher starting wage based on qualifications up to the pay‑grade maximum of $31.02)
