About the role
The Facilities Manager at SCI, located in Huntsville, AL, plays a crucial role in maintaining and managing company facilities. This position oversees the maintenance of all facility equipment and interfaces with external contractors for services.
Responsibilities
- Maintain building systems.
- Manage day-to-day building operations and maintenance staff.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for external contractors for services such as work plans, purchase requisitions, and invoicing.
- Develop and manage budgets for facility operations and maintenance.
- Assist in the development of operational procedures for fire alarm monitoring and building access control systems.
- Interact with production line management for new equipment construction and renovations within lab areas.
- Establish and maintain administrative privileges for the building's automated control system.
- Ensure the facility "help line" is established and functional, handling all requests efficiently.
- Assess sites and locations for potential relocation, and coordinate site tours for the current location.
- Select and develop people, planning, assigning, and monitoring individual objectives of unit members based on overall group objectives and priorities.
- Provide timely and useful feedback to staff members on their performance and development plans.
- Apply facilities operations knowledge and coaching skills to lead the team in establishing, maintaining, and enhancing a high-quality facility maintenance program.
- Participate in the group's work by overseeing and advising others, or by contributing directly to the development of more complex solutions.
- Show in-depth knowledge of facilities mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and emergency support systems.
Requirements
- Education: A degree in Facilities Management or a related field, or at least 12 years of facility maintenance experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 12 years of facility maintenance experience.
- Knowledge: Knowledge of environmental, health, and safety legislation and best practices is required.
