About the role

Under the direction of the Manager, Facilities Administrative Services, the Facilities Management Dispatcher serves as the central contact and communication point for Facilities Management during day, evening, and weekend shifts. This is a temporary, onsite assignment lasting 6+ months.

Responsibilities

  • Cover the Facilities Management emergency phone line from 8 am to 4 pm on weekdays, 4 pm to 12 midnight during the week, and 8 am to 4 pm on weekends.
  • Act as the second point of contact for all emergency situations across the entire Center campus.
  • Evaluate problems, enter detailed information (emergency type, building, floor/room, requester’s name and extension) into the work order database system, and prioritize requests.
  • Contact appropriate Facilities personnel, dispatch work orders to the correct trade, and ensure resolution.
  • Interact with customers professionally to maintain a positive image of the Facilities Management Division.
  • Assist with database management, including verifying completed work and closing out work orders.
  • Greet, screen, and assist visitors, and handle incoming calls for the Plant Operations Department with accurate message-taking.
  • Support management in resolving completed work requests.
  • Maintain and improve communication skills, collaborating with Plant Operations Supervisors, Operation Managers, and the General Manager.
  • Attend divisional meetings to stay updated on policy and procedural changes and participate in training programs as requested.
  • Maintain clean and orderly personal, shared, and public work areas to promote a professional office environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Excellent communication skills to manage a high volume of urgent calls.
  • Ability to exercise judgment, discretion, and interact effectively with irate or apprehensive customers.
  • Proficiency in work order entry systems, Microsoft Word, email, and intranet paging systems.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment (copier, fax machine).

Pay

$20.00 - $23.00 per hour.

Schedule

  • Weekdays: 8 am–4 pm or 4 pm–12 midnight.
  • Weekends: 8 am–4 pm.
