Facilities Maintenance Technician - Jenbacher Engines

About the role

The Facilities Maintenance Technician supports the Waukesha facility, ensuring daily operations, maintenance, and improvements of the site's physical infrastructure. This role maintains a safe, functional, and well-maintained environment, assists with vendor coordination, and adheres to safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic repairs and general maintenance tasks (e.g., patching walls, fixing doors, replacing light bulbs).
• Conduct routine inspections of facilities to identify maintenance needs.
• Assist with preventive maintenance on building systems and equipment under supervision.
• Support licensed technicians and contractors during repairs and installations.
• Monitor and report issues with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and security systems.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance areas and tools.
• Manage stock of basic maintenance supplies and notify supervisor when restocking is needed.
• Respond promptly to minor facility-related service requests and emergencies.
• Operate forklifts & lift trucks and help with office moves, furniture assembly, and workspace setup.
• Follow safety procedures and assist in maintaining a safe work environment.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree or technical certification preferred.
• 1+ years of experience in facilities management, maintenance, or a related field.
• Knowledge of building systems and maintenance procedures.
• Industrial forklift/lift truck operating experience.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• Proficiency with maintenance software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lift a minimum weight of 40 lbs.
