Facilities Maintenance Technician II

About the role

The Facilities Maintenance Technician II performs skilled maintenance and advanced repair of mechanical, electrical, HVAC and other physical structures with minimal supervision. Maintains, troubleshoots and repairs facilities mechanical components and electrical systems in accordance with standard operating procedures, State building codes, internal requirements, manufacturer specifications and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Follow established dress and behavioral codes.
• Attend meetings and training classes to keep up to date on building policies and procedures as required.
• Participate in the facilities on call rotation.
• Maintain inventory of all equipment and tools.

Requirements

• 5+ years of electrical and/or HVAC experience including troubleshooting HVAC components, electrical systems, controls, motors, conduit installation and general knowledge of the electrical code.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid NC driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check.
• Ability to lift objects up to 50 lbs and to stand, bend, stoop for long periods, and climb stairs to inspect and handle problems.
• Willingness to work in a fast‑paced team environment with a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays as dictated by event schedules.
• Ability to interact professionally with fellow employees and the general public.

Skills

• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to read and follow verbal and written instructions and adhere to building policies and event requirements.
• Knowledge of and ability to follow all safety procedures and guidelines.
