FACILITIES MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN - ENGINEER I

Core Functions

• Perform routine maintenance and emergency repairs in guest rooms, meeting spaces, and operational areas.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment across multiple systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and life-safety systems.
• Conduct regular inspections and ensure equipment is functioning safely and efficiently.
• Complete all maintenance requests, work orders, and HotSOS tickets promptly and to Forbes standards.
• Communicate effectively with guests and colleagues, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
• Support the Engineering team in preventative maintenance programs and special projects.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and Hyatt standards.
• Collaborate cross-departmentally to maintain a seamless guest experience.
• Adhere to Hyatt's Core Values while maintaining a positive, guest-focused attitude.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of building maintenance experience in hospitality or a related field.
• Proficiency in basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Prior hotel or resort experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Adequate reading and interpreting of blueprints and schematics.
• Basic computer proficiency, including Windows-based systems and mobile work order applications.
• Proven ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods (entire shift) and move throughout the property both inside and outside in varied environmental conditions.
• Frequent bending, kneeling, and climbing ladders.
• Capable of lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 50 pounds as needed, 150 pounds assisted.
• Frequent use of computer systems, phones, tablets, radios, and standard office equipment.
• Must be able to work in a front-of-house environment with guest interaction.

Pay

The hourly wage we reasonably expect to pay for this position is $25.00-$30.00.
