Facilities Maintenance Technician
About the role
The Facilities Maintenance Technician performs intermediate tasks related to day-to-day inspections, preventative maintenance, and repair of buildings and equipment under the supervision of a senior technician or supervisor. Functions include daily inspections, installations, general maintenance (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC), and repairs. The role also involves responding to emergency situations and evaluating/correcting defects. Assistance to other trades and adherence to safety practices are key responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Performs daily inspections and installations
- Carries out general maintenance tasks such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC
- Responds to and resolves emergency situations
- Assists lower-level facilities technicians as needed
- Adheres to all safety practices and procedures
- Cleans and maintains work areas and equipment
- Attends meetings and provides customer service
- Communicates via various methods and devices
- Operates department vehicles
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Two years' experience in general maintenance or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Valid OSHA 10-hour General Industry Safety and Health card
- Demonstrated competency in identified technical specialties as required for this position's level of responsibility
Qualifications
Must meet CCS specifications and demonstrate competency in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC/R or equivalent combination of education and experience.
