Job Summary

The Facilities Maintenance Technician positions perform and completes assigned facility maintenance and improvement tasks throughout the organization’s various physical locations. In addition, this position routinely monitors facility conditions to ensure components are operating at full functionality and within required regulatory guidelines.

Department Specific Accountabilities

  • Performs repairs on electrical equipment and machinery and to buildings and facilities, including painting, drywall repairs, carpentry, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical power.
  • Repairs woodwork using proper carpentry tools and techniques.
  • Prepares surfaces for applying paints, stains, varnish, etc., to carious materials.
  • Uses plaster, sheetrock compounds, etc., to maintain buildings.
  • Maintains indoor environments of temperature, humidity variances, light outages, and general facility upkeep.
  • Keeps work areas orderly, clean, and safe.
  • Ensures proper care in the use of equipment and supplies.
  • Able to learn and understand hospital facility regulatory requirements.
  • Participates in educational programs and in-service meetings.
  • Maintains power plant.
  • Performs other duties as requested by the Director of Facilities.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience: 3 years’ experience in a facility maintenance position preferred
  • Valid current Driver’s License
