Facilities Technician

The Role

• Perform regular inspections of facilities to identify and resolve issues
• Plan and schedule repairs and maintenance tasks
• Conduct minor and major repairs on building structures and systems, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems
• Maintain groundskeeping including cutting grass, weed eating, snow removal, etc.
• Monitor and manage heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for optimal performance
• Conduct regular preventative maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities
• Coincide with contractors to request quotes and communicate details for repairs that needs to be completed
• Respond to urgent maintenance calls and emergencies ensuring that issues are resolved promptly
• Maintain inventory of repair equipment and supplies
• Ensure adherence to quality standards and health and safety regulations
• Diagnose problems and replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments
• Participate in the development and implementation of safety awareness programs
• Coincide with other departmental staff regarding facility operations and maintenance issues
• Document all installation, repair, and maintenance activities
• Perform general cleaning and upkeep of the facility as needed

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• Additional technical training or certifications in maintenance or a related field is preferred
• Previous experience in facility maintenance or a similar role is advantageous
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team

Skills

• Knowledge of building structures and systems, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems
• Ability to conduct preventative maintenance and diagnose problems
• Experience in manufacturing is preferred
